The 28th edition of CII’s flagship convention The Partnership Summit concluded on a high note, having witnessed deliberations by global, national and industry leaders. The three-day Summit, held from 13-15 March 2023, was organised around the theme ‘Partnerships for Responsible, Accelerated, Innovative, Sustainable and Equitable Businesses.’
The Partnership Summit 2023 was closely aligned with the B20 agenda and was significant in driving forward actions that are specific and impactful. There were 10 thematic tracks of global significance. These were: Inclusive Global Value Chains for Resilient Global Trade and Investment; Financing for Global Economic Recovery; G2O; Future of Work, Skilling and Mobility; Energy, Climate Change and Resource Efficiency; Financial Inclusion; Digital Transformation; Technology Innovation and R&D; Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) in Business; and African Economic Integration.
While deepening multilateral partnerships across nations for a sustainable and resilient global economy, the three-day summit also highlighted what India has to offer to the world.

G20 Sherpa Meeting held in Kumarakom, Kerala

The 2nd meeting of G20 Sherpas was held against the backdrop of the idyllic backwaters of Kumarakom in the district of Kottayam, Kerala. Over 120 delegates from G20 Members, 9 invitee countries, and various international and regional organizations were welcomed to the meeting being chaired by Indian G20 Sherpa, Mr Amitabh Kant.

Second G20 Tourism Working Group meeting concluded successfully

The 2nd meeting of Tourism Working Group (TWG) under India’s G20 Presidency successfully concluded on 3 April. The 3-day meeting, held in Siliguri and Darjeeling in West Bengal, witnessed engaging discussions among the participating delegations from G20 members, guest countries and invited International Organisations on the five priority areas of TWG viz. Green Tourism, Digitalisation, Skills, Tourism MSMEs and Destination Management.

2nd Energy Transitions Working Group (ETWG) meeting concludes successfully in Gandhinagar, Gujarat with focus on collaboration, global cooperation and commitment for clean energy transition.

The 2nd Energy Transitions Working Group Meeting (ETWG) under India’s G20 Presidency concluded successfully in Gandhinagar, on 3 April 2023. The two-day meeting witnessed participation of over 100 delegates from G20 member countries, 10 special invitee countries and 14 International Organisations.

CII CFO Conclave, Mumbai, Maharashtra

The CFO Conclave held on 10 March at Mumbai saw conversations at the intersection of finance, sustainability and digitalization – issues that are being actively deliberated on by the B20 Task Forces.
In the wake of ever changing business landscape and resultant risks and challenges, the CFO community is increasingly challenged to strike a pivotal balance between new initiatives and the traditional finance function.
The role of the financial community must evolve to address dynamic issues and challenges. In present circumstances when regulatory frameworks for new technologies like artificial intelligence have begun to take form and the threats and opportunities associated with it are becoming clearer, finance professionals need to be more agile.

Conference on Opportunities for Multilateral Business Partnerships in Tourism, Hospitality, Pharmaceutical and Organic Farming, Gangtok, Sikkim
|
The third B20 Conference in the North East in Gangtok, Sikkim was organised on 16 March 2023 with the theme Tourism, Hospitality, Pharmaceutical and Organic Farming. The event was graced by Mr P.S. Tamang Golay, Chief Minister of Sikkim, Mr V.B. Pathak, Chief Secretary, Sikkim, and senior officials of Central Government and Sikkim State Government. Delegations from 22 countries with 53 overseas participants converged in Sikkim for the Conference which also included more than 100 Indian delegates.
